In his short story, Hawthorne presents his story as a parable in a few ways. The moral lesson that this parable illustrates is the true meaning of the Minister and his black veil. This stroy shows how people in the town treated Mr. Hooper after he put the black veil on, compared how they treated and respected him before that. Hawthorne does a really good job at showing how the townspeople of Milford react to his veil, and how differently they now treat him. Even at the end of the story, where Mr. Clark goes to see Mr. Hooper, it shows the feelings of the townspeople and the superficial qualities of others around him.
A life lesson that was taught to me was a lesson about how to live by my cousin Michael. As an older brother figure to me, my cousin told me not to follow the paths of others that you know are wrong, but to go in the path of what I know is right. This lesson shows the way how I live my life now. I don't follow anyone, I lead.

Responsibility - Blog Post
Responsibility Blog Post -
By Jake Goldstein
To be responsible is to be someone who can achieve a duty, task, or mission in an orderly way that is of respect and dignity. A responsible person is someone who works at something to achieve a goal set out for them and that makes smart decisions. Responsibility occurs and should occur in instances of dire importance and situations that need a good moral decision. For example, if someone is pressuring you to have drink or two of alcohol, a responsible decision would be to say no and avoid the situation. I am a responsible person, and one instance of me showing my responsibility is when one of my friends challenged me to a drag race. I declined the offer because I knew I could injure myself or someone else and that i could get in trouble if I was caught. The outcome of my actions would not be a good one. Responsibility is something that is gained in life, not taught.
